Slava Executive Search & Selection was founded in 1991 as a private Russian company with a firm determination to succeed in the business new for Russia – Retained Executive Search. Thus the Company pioneered this sphere on the Russian market.

From the very beginning our objective was to build a Russian consulting company adhering to the best practices and high standards of ethics adopted in Executive Search worldwide.

By the time Russia entered the world of free enterprise, our Founding Consultants have already gained hands-on experience in the field of Human Resources Management and Development (including the process of selection and placement of top executives) in the planned economy as well as extensive in-depth knowledge in many industrial sectors, labor market, mass mentality and historical and cultural specifics in different regions of the former Soviet Union. Now what we needed was to learn as quickly as possible how to apply these skills and knowledge in competitive environment of the free market economy.

The Russian economy was living through hard times then, and the Russian industrial players were not ready to turn to external consultants for attracting the badly needed leadership talent. Therefore, during its early years the Company focused its services on international FMCG companies who took the risk of entering the Russian market.

While serving its international clients, Slava Executive Search & Selection expertise grew immensely due to continuous exposure to best Western business practices and working hand in hand with experienced Western managers and consultants both from client companies and other executive search firms. In particular, we are grateful to Tibor Voros, Bill Shaddy, Jim Forkade, Andrew Speak, Cliff Pendleton and Frank Keepers whose advice, comments and personal example greatly contributed to Slava Executive Search & Selection growing into a progressive and successful company.

Striving to increase our international exposure in the age of globalization we joined IIC Partners/Executive Search Worldwide international alliance in 1996.

The IIC members pledge to common standards of excellence and ethics that provide us with the opportunity to seek assistance from our partners in 40 countries when handling international assignments for large Russian companies as well as to participate in execution of our partners’ assignments on the territory of Russia. Besides on-going networking, we regularly meet our colleagues at General and Regional Conferences to share professional information and views on emerging trends in Executive Search in different regions and worldwide.

We actively take part in IIC Practice Groups’ activities, which enable us to strengthen our expertise in various industry sectors.
